Michail is a Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience as  an International Welding Engineer. With a strong focus on research and development and technical consulting, He studied and worked in Germany in the field of laser and hybrid welding processes before moving to New Zealand in 2006 to pursue his current role as General Manager of Fabrication 4.0 for the Welding Centre.

He continued to be an active committee member in Standards New Zealand and Australia to drive revisions and updates of essential technical standards for our industry such as AS/NZS 1554 and AS/NZS 5131.

He was also instrumental in establishing the Steel Fabrication Certification Scheme (SFC) in collaboration with SCNZ and industry to help safeguard safety and reliability in structural steelwork in New Zealand. In connection to this, he is  also the HERA Cert Manager which works to certify businesses under this scheme.
